Robert L. Radke Jr, 83, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026 surrounded by his family A caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Bob spent most of his life in Eau Claire, where he built a home filled with love, alongside his best friend and wife, Erma Kadlec Radke. He was one of two children born to Orillia and Robert Radke Sr.
Bob graduated from UW-Eau Claire with a degree in Business Administration. His career started as an assistant buyer at National Presto Industries during the 1960s and 1970s. He later worked as a pipefitter at Uniroyal. After the plant's closure, he worked by driving semi-truck and retired in 2014. Bob also proudly served his country in the Army Reserve, both locally and at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.
Bob leaves behind his beloved wife, Erma. Together they were blessed with three children: Deena (Jon) Fremstad of Dallas, GA; Robert "Rob" (Sarah) Radke of Green Bay; and Anthony "Tony" Radke of Eau Claire. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Madalyn and Camryn Fremstad, and Seth and Luke Radke. He is also survived by his dear sister, Donna Jean (Richard) Cleasby of Eau Claire, along with many extended family members and friends.
Summertime held a special place in Bob's heart. He and Erma cherished the days at their cabin on Nelson Lake near Hayward--where they honeymooned in 1970. Their days were spent enjoying pontoon rides, times at the casino, and countless laughs with friends. Many knew that if Bob was home, he could likely be found relaxing on the "Radke Deck," smoking his pipe and taking in the peaceful lake view. Friends and neighbors often stopped by this favorite gathering spot, drawn by his welcoming presence and easy conversation. One of Bob's greatest joys was the companionship of his beloved dog, Buddy, who adored him.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to his physicians-Dr. Kidess, Dr. lwakiri, and Dr. Lalich- at OakLeaf Medical Clinics, as well as the teams at Mayo Clinic Health System and St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
"We find comfort in knowing that our Dad's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever."
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Hulke Family Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
